Why Gylder

Four things Gylder does differently.

MijnVermogen works out the Dutch rules, and takes them seriously: box 3, jaarruimte, the pension gap, and for a company director even the gebruikelijk loon test. Gylder does none of that. What Gylder does is keep your balance sheet complete and current. Here is what that buys you.

  • Why Gylder

Everything is on it, your home and your metals included.

Gylder revalues property and precious metals for you, and models your mortgage as the loan parts it really has: annuity, linear or interest-only, each with its own rate and fixed-rate period. Your net worth moves with the market instead of with the last number you typed.

  • Why Gylder

Every balance encrypted with a key that belongs to your account alone.

Gylder encrypts every balance with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, in Frankfurt, with a key per account: a copy of the database alone reveals nothing. Every login uses two-factor authentication.

  • Why Gylder

Banks, brokers and exchanges, in one overview.

PSD2 connections to 2,700+ banks across 29 countries, DeGiro with its full transaction history behind it, and Bitvavo and Coinbase over a read-only API key. What comes in, comes in without you typing anything.

  • Why Gylder

A snapshot of your net worth every day.

Gylder records your net worth daily, so the chart continues without you doing anything for it. You look back at every day, not only the days you remembered.

Swipe for all four

Privacy, the European way

Your financial data stays in Europe, encrypted before it is stored.

Gylder was built for European rules from the first line of code. A copy of our database, on its own, reveals nothing.

  • GDPR compliant
  • EU data centres
  • PSD2 regulated
  • AES-256-GCM
  • Encrypted before it is stored

Every balance is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key unique to you. A copy of our database alone reveals nothing.

  • Read-only by nature

Connections can only ever read. Gylder never trades, transfers or touches your funds.

  • Kept in the EU, two-factor sign-in

All data lives in Frankfurt, Germany, GDPR-compliant by design, and every login uses two-factor authentication.

  • Yours to take and to delete

Export everything in one click. Delete your account and the key your data was encrypted with is destroyed with it; encrypted backups age out within seven days.

Gylder vs MijnVermogen on privacy

Where your balance sheet lives, and what protects it.

A net worth tracker holds the most complete picture of your finances that exists anywhere: every account, every holding, your home and your debts, in one place. Where that picture is stored, and what protects it, matters more than any feature.

Gylder keeps it in Frankfurt and encrypts every balance before it is stored, with a key that belongs to your account alone. MijnVermogen is a Dutch product from Terios Capital B.V.; its privacy policy names SSL/TLS in transit, hashed passwords and encrypted backups, and its comparison page names Dutch servers.

Only in Gylder

Your mortgage is not one number.

Most Dutch mortgages have several loan parts. Gylder models each one as it really is, annuity, linear or interest-only, with its own rate, fixed-rate period, schedule and extra repayments. MijnVermogen's site describes a debt with a rate and an end date, an amortisation schedule and scenarios for repaying early; separate loan parts are not on it.

Gylder is the better choice if:

  • your money is at European banks, DeGiro, Bitvavo or Coinbase
  • you have a mortgage with more than one loan part
  • you want your financial data kept in the EU and encrypted with your own key
  • you want returns, dividends and spending in one place
  • you would rather pay a lower flat price, in euros

And MijnVermogen is the better choice if you want box 3, your jaarruimte or your pension gap worked out inside the same product, if you want to set budgets in advance, or if you run your own BV. Those calculations are not in Gylder, and they are not plans waiting to land.

Questions

No. Gylder shows where you stand and what changed; it does not work out a box 3 charge, your jaarruimte or your pension gap. MijnVermogen names all three on their site, so if that is what you came for, that is the better product for you.

Try it against your own numbers.

Connect your bank, import DeGiro or link an exchange. You will know the same evening.
